Senior Python Developer

We’re looking for a seasoned Senior Python Backend Engineer with extensive Django experience to lead backend architecture and guide a team through complex system migrations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys defining standards, mentoring developers, and staying hands-on with coding while collaborating with internal and client teams.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain the overall backend architecture, with a focus on Django and microservices.
• Lead migrations from large systems to Django, ensuring performance and scalability.
• Set coding standards and oversee CI/CD pipelines and best practices.
• Mentor mid-level engineers, run code reviews, and support skill development within the team.
• Act as a technical point of contact for client and internal teams, providing clear communication and guidance.
• Stay actively involved in hands-on development and troubleshooting.

Requirements

• 7+ years of Python backend experience, including 5+ years with Django at an architectural level
• Able to define overall architecture, microservice architecture, coding standards, and CI/CD processes
• Proven track record leading migrations from large systems to Django
• Willing to mentor, run code reviews, and stay hands-on with development
• Fluent English and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of an international, distributed team and resolve potential issues and challenges that come with remote work.

Nice to have:

• Background with AI analytics and the healthcare domain – familiar with security and regulations (HIPAA / GDPR)
• Nice to have: knowledge of Azure, .NET, and strong data-security practices
