Cloud Security Engineer

We’re seeking a Cloud Security Engineer/Analyst to design, implement, and maintain security platforms in AWS environments. You’ll secure infrastructure, manage vulnerabilities, integrate SIEM, and support engineering teams with security best practices and automation.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for implementing, developing and maintaining Client’s security platforms and assisting other engineering and platform teams to build security into their platforms and projects
• Select and implement technical security controls and platforms
• Provide security SME support to IT infrastructure and development projects
• Take part in security product evaluations and carry out technical evaluations and POCscfor security tools (open source and commercial) used
• Create design documentation and plan the implementation and integration of newcsecurity products with existing platforms and processes.
• Develop and continually improve security automation and orchestration capabilities,cand the effective integration between platforms
• Develop, update and maintain security governance documentation such policies,cstandards and baselines
• Collaborate with external teams to ensure that the SIEM platform maintains access to all systems and data necessary to perform their function
• Responsible for Network Infrastructure management (Firewalls, IPS, IDS, Load Balancers)

Analyst responsibilities:

• Manage security tooling and alerts
• Manage the remediation of outstanding vulnerabilities
• Act as the primary escalation point to other Security Analysts monitoring the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) System & provide initial investigation of security incidents.
• Take an active part in the containment of incidents, even after they are escalated
• Have an understanding about emerging/increasing cyber threats landscape

Requirements

• Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of experience in technical IT or security roles is required.
• 1+ years of experience in security-focused technical roles is required.
• Experience with technical security in a public cloud environment (preferably AWS) is required.
• Experience with technical security in API driven Cloud based environments (e.g. SaaS)
• Experience with SIEM solutions / IT monitoring and logging technologies (e.g. Splunk, Rapid7, ELK, QRadar etc).
• A comprehensive knowledge of common security products and technologies is required.
• Mac, Linux and Windows operating systems familiarity and system administration.
• Command line interfaces and scripting experience is required, especially Lambda, Python, Bash or PowerShell.
• Infrastructure as Code e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation
• Ability to triage, investigate, analyze, and contain information security events.Analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to assimilate, analyze, and correlate large amounts of data from various network, operating system, application, and security devices, logs, and alerts.
• Fluent English and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of an international, distributed team and resolve potential issues and challenges that come with remote work.

Nice to have:

• Hands-on experience with centrally managed information security tools such as Anti-Virus, EDR, SIEM, or SOAR.
• Working in an ITIL / Agile environment with a DevOps mindset.
• Any Public Cloud certification (preferably for AWS) would be highly advantageous but not compulsory.
• Experience with financial services assurance (i.e. Anti-Money Laundering) or forensic techniques would also be highly beneficial.
