Senior Scala Engineer

We are looking for a Backend Scala Engineer who is passionate about functional programming languages and eager to utilize their technical skills and knowledge to make a meaningful impact. As a backend engineer, your role will involve designing, constructing, and maintaining software through the creation of clean, scalable, and efficient code. 

You will primarily work with Scala, enhancing the software platform by introducing new features and ensuring its smooth operation. Applying software engineering principles, you will contribute to software solutions' design, development, testing, maintenance, and evaluation. Collaboration with team members on development projects will be crucial, and you will also play a vital role in ensuring the security and data protection measures of the software.

Requirements

• In-depth development experience using Scala and building software from the ground up.
• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Over 5 years of experience working with Scala backend tools and frameworks, applying functional programming principles.
• Experience working on long-term projects with a strong focus on product development.
• Experience with microservices architecture.
• Cloud experience and knowledge of CI/CD.
• Having prior knowledge of Cats, FS2, ScalaTest, Test containers, and Flyway, tools would be advantageous.
• Fluent English and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of an international, distributed team and resolve potential issues and challenges that come with remote work.
