Position Overview: Tech Lead (Senior Staff or Principal Engineer)

As a Tech Lead, you’ll play a key role in defining and executing the technical strategy for our client’s core platform. This high-impact position involves architecting scalable solutions, leading engineering teams, and ensuring that rigorous standards for performance, security, and reliability are met. You’ll collaborate with senior stakeholders, including the CTO, CPO, and Infrastructure Architect, leveraging your expertise to influence strategic decisions and guide technical direction.

Responsibilities and Technical Proficiency

• Act as the primary technical authority, setting coding standards, best practices, and architectural direction to maintain high-quality, scalable codebases.
• Own the design and implementation of core system architecture, optimizing for high availability, large data workflows, and high-volume processing.
• Collaborate with executive stakeholders to align technical initiatives with product and business goals, shaping the strategic direction of the platform.
• Lead end-to-end development of large-scale projects, from concept to delivery, ensuring timely, high-quality execution.
• Mentor and guide engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Drive technical innovation by evaluating and implementing new tools, frameworks, and technologies that enhance product development and team efficiency.

Technical Skills

• Advanced proficiency in Python; experience with multiple languages is a plus.
• Strong background in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), with experience designing scalable, cloud-native applications.
• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi.
• Skilled in CI/CD tools like ArgoCD, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD for building reliable, automated pipelines.
• Deep experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and related container orchestration technologies.
• Advanced understanding of PostgreSQL, MySQL, and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis) for efficient data storage solutions.
• Strong grasp of RESTful, gRPC, or GraphQL APIs and experience designing scalable microservices architectures.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices, compliance (e.g., GDPR), and performance optimization in high-traffic environments.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years in software engineering, with at least 3–5 years in a senior technical leadership role.
• Proven track record in designing complex architectures for distributed systems, with a focus on performance, scalability, and security.
• Success in setting technical direction, guiding large projects, and establishing best practices across teams.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve multi-system issues in high-performance environments.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, working effectively with cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders.
• Proven ability to mentor and guide engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
• Fluency in Spanish and English
