Software Development Tech Lead

We’re seeking an experienced Tech Lead to guide and contribute directly to our engineering team’s success. This full-time position is ideal for someone who excels in a hybrid role, balancing strategic leadership with hands-on technical contributions to deliver exceptional code.

As the Tech Lead, you’ll oversee a small, agile team responsible for:

• Building and maintaining high-performance client websites
• Developing internal tools and platforms
• Managing our IT infrastructure, including servers, domains, databases, and system integrations

The ideal candidate thrives on solving complex problems across all levels, from strategic planning to executing code. You should be comfortable in a fast-paced, startup-like environment and enjoy being an individual contributor (IC) while taking ownership of technical leadership, team direction, and project accountability.

Responsibilities

• Set the roadmap for your team in alignment with business goals
• Prioritize work across internal tools, client websites, and infrastructure projects
• Be an active IC, contributing code regularly and maintaining technical excellence
• Hold the team accountable to timelines and deliverables
• Communicate clearly with external and internal stakeholders
• Manage and optimize our tech stack and infrastructure
• Foster a high-performance, collaborative engineering culture

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience as a software engineer
• Proven experience leading technical teams (manager or senior technical lead)
• Track record of mentoring individuals and teams
• Experience using A/B testing tools and analytics to make data-driven decisions
• Skilled at translating requests from non-technical colleagues into technical requirements and roadmaps
• Skills: Javascript, HTML, CSS, Github Actions, Cloudflare Workers

Differentiators

• SEO optimization experience, with proven ability to measure and report effectiveness
• Systems administration experience, with an ability to manage server configurations, hosting, and security for high-traffic sites
• DevOps experience, including version control, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment
• Experience managing outsourced development teams or third-party vendors
• Skills: Typescript, Astro, Netlify, Airtable, MySQL, Postgres
• B.S. in Computer Science or a related field
