Elixir Engineer

We are seeking an Elixir Engineer who will be a key contributor to technical initiatives, designing and developing scalable solutions while also providing technical mentorship to other engineers. The position offers the opportunity to own features end-to-end, influence specifications, and work across the stack - including backend services (Elixir/Phoenix) and frontend development (React).

This role plays a critical part in improving and scaling the company’s software systems, directly impacting the third-party logistics (3PL) industry.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure, scalable, and resilient systems, with a strong emphasis on simplicity and maintainability.
• Mentor and support junior engineers, encouraging knowledge-sharing and continuous growth within the team.
• Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define priorities and ensure the delivery of high-quality features.
• Uphold rigorous standards for code quality, testing practices, and development best practices.
• Take full ownership of features throughout the lifecycle - from concept and design to deployment - shaping specifications and building backend services.
• Partner with other teams to enhance scalability by improving processes, tools, and infrastructure.

Requirements

• Expertise in designing, building, and maintaining distributed systems or complex applications.
• Strong proficiency in Elixir or another functional programming language.
• Deep experience with SQL and relational databases.
• Solid understanding of software best practices, design patterns, and system architecture.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka and event-driven architectures.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and mentor other engineers.
• Nice to have: Startup background, logistics/supply chain experience, or knowledge of OMS/Consumer Experience platforms.
