Senior Android Developer

We are looking for a Senior Android Developer responsible for the development and maintenance of applications aimed at a vast number of diverse Android devices. The application is built entirely using Kotlin and follows a Model-View-ViewModel (MVVM) architecture. The fundamental principle guiding the development is encapsulation, ensuring that any changes to one class do not impact other parts of the codebase. Therefore, commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and creating quality products is essential.

Responsibilities

• Actively contribute to the enhancement of code quality and maintainability by adhering to coding standards, conducting code reviews, and participating in technical discussions.
• Collaborate seamlessly with iOS Engineers, Backend Engineers, and other cross-functional team members to develop cohesive and feature-rich applications that align with user needs and business objectives.
• Identify bottlenecks, bugs, and performance issues within the application and work diligently to devise efficient solutions to address them.
• Take ownership of the user experience design process, iterating on wireframes, prototypes, and mockups to ensure the final product resonates seamlessly with end-users.
• Contribute with innovative ideas, and collaborate with designers to translate concepts into practical and aesthetically pleasing UI/UX designs.

Requirements

• Expertise with Firebase integration.
• Strong affinity for Kotlin programming and a exposure to tools such as Coroutines, Android Jetpack (Room, Live Data, View Models), Dagger 2, and Retrofit.
• A track record of successfully shipping and iterating on multiple apps featured on the Play Store.
• Ability to transform exceptional designs into visually appealing and functional products.
• Development of user-centric applications that resonate with users.
• Function effectively within a team that navigates through daily ambiguity.
• Understand the significance of app usability, UI/UX design, as well as foundational knowledge of computer science principles.
• Collaborate closely with product designers, focusing on new feature design and prototyping.
• Engage in the user experience design process, spanning wireframes and mockups to actual implementation and release.
• Work closely with designers and business stakeholders to devise and implement elegant solutions to intricate challenges.
• Participate in defining and maintaining visual guidelines, ensuring uniformity across the application.
• Swiftly prototype new user interactions and iterate based on feedback from peers.
