Senior Backend Engineer (Python)

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer (Python) responsible for managing the interchange of data between the server and the users. Your primary focus will be the development of all server-side logic, ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the frontend. You will also be responsible for integrating the frontend elements built by your co-workers into the application; therefore, a basic understanding of frontend technologies is necessary as well.

Responsibilities

• Writing reusable, testable, and efficient code
• Design and implementation of low-latency, high-availability, and performant applications
• Integration of user-facing elements developed by frontend developers with server-side logic
• Test the functionality for users and the backend
• Analyze requirements, build software components, and deliver solutions
• Implement best practices, coding, and security standards using the industry-standard tools
• Work closely with the team, helping others to work efficiently, constantly experimenting with new ideas, and optimizing existing ones

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in Python, with knowledge of Django and/or Flask
• Understanding of accessibility and security compliance
• Knowledge of user authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments
• Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
• Familiarity with event-driven programming in Python
• Strong unit test and debugging skills
• Fluent English and excellent communication skills
• Ability to work as part of an international, distributed team and resolve potential issues and challenges that come with remote work
