Principal Software Engineer iOS Lead

We are seeking a passionate and visionary Principal Software Engineer to take on the dual role of Lead and Architect for the iOS development efforts. This is a high-impact opportunity for a senior-level iOS expert who will be instrumental in defining technical strategy, elevating product quality, and guiding a team of mobile engineers. While tvOS experience is a strong plus, the focus is on exceptional leadership and architectural skill within the Apple ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and design for iOS and (optionally) tvOS applications, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and performance.
• Define and enforce mobile development standards and best practices across the team.
• Partner closely with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to align technical vision with business goals.
• Mentor and grow a team of talented mobile engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence.
• Oversee the full mobile app development lifecycle: from ideation and design to release and continuous improvement.
• Lead the evaluation and adoption of modern tools, frameworks, and practices to improve developer productivity and app quality.
• Drive strategic technical decisions, including platform choices, architectural patterns (e.g., MVVM, VIPER), and third-party integrations.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in software development with at least 7 years focused on iOS.
• Proven experience as a tech lead or principal engineer in a high-performing mobile team.
• Deep expertise in Swift and Objective-C, with hands-on experience building complex, high-quality iOS applications.
• Experience with tvOS is desirable but not required.
• Strong grasp of iOS SDK, Apple Human Interface Guidelines, and performance optimization techniques.
• Experience integrating RESTful APIs, third-party SDKs, and analytics platforms.
• Background in CI/CD for mobile apps and working knowledge of build and distribution systems (e.g., Fastlane, Xcode Cloud, TestFlight).
• Ability to balance technical leadership with hands-on coding as needed.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
