Database Engineer (noSQL)

As a NoSQL Server Database Engineer/Administrator, you will administer the NoSQL databases ecosystem to ensure they remain online, secure, right-sized, and have appropriate HA/DR solutions. Knowledge of Cassandra hosted in both public and private clouds is a must. Experience in other DBs as MongoDB and ES, is highly valued but not essential, as in-house training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• You will promote and collaborate in the creation of solutions to drive automation, environment consistency, and continuous delivery with an "everything as code" mentality. 
• You will lead on complex database tasks and complex workflows such as Information Lifecycle Management, very large table modifications, advanced query tuning, and data migrations.
• Training budget and work time will be provided to keep up to date and drive industry data platform trends, as well as new technologies adoption.

Requirements

• 3 years of experience managing Cassandra Production systems– other relational and/or NoSQL database experience is a plus.
• Cloud experience in either GCP or AWS.
• Experience with database monitoring tools and performance optimisation techniques.
• Proficiency in MongoDB and/or ElasticSearch administration, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting, is desirable.
• Willing to be part of an on-call rota.
• Fluent English and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of an international, distributed team and resolve potential issues and challenges that come with remote work.
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible (nice to have).
• Scripting abilities in Python or bash are desirable.
