Senior Data Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer / Senior Big Data Engineer to join an AdTech data platform team working on high-volume, low-latency batch and streaming pipelines. The role focuses on processing massive volumes of real-time event data (auctions, impressions, clicks) using Apache Spark and event-driven architectures, primarily on Google Cloud Platform. Experience with AWS or Azure is also welcome.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate scalable batch and streaming data pipelines
• Develop and optimize Apache Spark (PySpark) jobs
• Work with streaming/event platforms (Kafka or cloud equivalents)
• Transform and analyze large datasets using SQL
• Improve pipeline performance, reliability, and observability
• Collaborate with analytics, platform, and product teams
• Own data solutions end-to-end, from design to production

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in Data Engineering / Big Data roles
• Strong production experience with Apache Spark (PySpark)
• Experience with streaming/event-driven systems (Kafka, Pub/Sub, Kinesis, Event Hubs)
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
• Strong SQL skills
• Senior-level ownership and delivery mindset
• Fluent Polish and based in Poland

• Previous Big Data Engineer role
• JVM-based data processing (Scala, Java, Kotlin)
• Data lakes/lakehouse architectures
• Monitoring, data quality, CI/CD or IaC experience
