Senior Backend Engineer (Laravel)

We are seeking a highly experienced Laravel/PHP professional with a deep understanding of queues, caching, and preferably some DevOps experience. This role presents an exciting opportunity for a skilled expert in PHP/Laravel development, RESTful APIs, and database management to excel and make a significant impact.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the development team to design, develop, and maintain robust backend solutions using the Laravel framework.
• Create and maintain RESTful APIs for seamless communication with front-end applications and other services.
• Utilize SQL for efficient database management and optimization, ensuring high performance even with large datasets.
• Work with Docker, Git, and CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth deployment and continuous integration.
• Apply your expertise in data structures and algorithms to optimize system performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Investigate existing systems to identify bottlenecks, bugs, and areas for enhancement.
• Demonstrate problem-solving skills by independently resolving technical challenges and implementing innovative solutions.
• Ensure code quality, reliability, and scalability in a collaborative development environment.
• Communicate effectively in written and verbal English to engage with team members and stakeholders.

Requirements

• 8+ years of hands-on experience with PHP/Laravel, including building scalable RESTful APIs.
• Expertise in queues and caching mechanisms, with a strong understanding of their practical implementation.
• Proficiency in SQL and proven ability to efficiently manage large databases.
• Familiarity with Docker, Git, and CI/CD practices.
• Strong grasp of data structures, and algorithms, and a drive for optimization.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and improve existing systems.
• Self-motivated and capable of independent problem-solving.
• Fluent English and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of an international, distributed team and resolve potential issues and challenges that come with remote work.
