Senior Backend Engineer/Tech Lead

We are seeking an experienced Node.js Backend Tech Lead Developer who will guide a backend development team and drive the design and implementation of scalable, high-performance server-side applications. You will be responsible for architectural decisions, mentoring team members, and ensuring the quality of code and solutions delivered.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of highly scalable backend applications using Node.js and Express.js, providing technical direction and guidance to the development team.
• Mentor and support a team of engineers, ensuring adherence to best practices, high-quality code standards, and effective design patterns.
• Build and integrate robust APIs and microservices that support real-time capabilities using Ably and WebSocket.
• Collaborate closely with frontend developers to deliver seamless user experiences utilizing technologies like React, TypeScript, MUI, and Vite.
• Implement and manage cloud integration solutions with Azure, including Azure DevOps and Kubernetes for deployment and scalability.
• Develop and manage data storage and processing solutions using MongoDB, BullMQ, and Apache Kafka.
• Optimize application performance and scalability, ensuring efficient data flow and real-time processing.
• Drive code reviews, unit testing, and other quality assurance activities to ensure robustness and security of the backend architecture.
• Ensure best practices in code quality and testing by utilizing Docker, Jest, ESLint, and related tools.
• Integrate Google Maps Services into applications to enable location-based functionalities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the full stack to maintain high application performance and reliability.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional experience in backend development with a strong focus on Node.js.
• Proven experience leading development teams and delivering scalable, high-quality solutions.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and related frameworks such as Express.js.
• Experience in building real-time applications using Ably and WebSocket.
• Hands-on experience with MongoDB, BullMQ, and Apache Kafka for data storage and processing.
• Proficiency in cloud platforms, particularly Azure, with experience using Azure DevOps and Kubernetes for continuous integration and deployment.
• Familiarity with Docker for containerization, and Jest and ESLint for testing and maintaining code quality.
• Experience with Google Maps Services for implementing location-based features.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and debug issues.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
