Senior Analytics Engineer / Technical Business Analyst

For one of our clients, we are looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer / Technical Business Analyst to act as a key bridge between business stakeholders and IT. In this role, you will translate complex business requirements into scalable, high-performance data models within the Google Cloud ecosystem, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data models and pipelines in BigQuery and Dataform
• Optimize query performance and cost efficiency (partitioning, clustering, execution plans)
• Build and maintain Looker dashboards and semantic models to support business reporting
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions and data models
• Develop and enhance logic for forecasting and analytics use cases
• Perform complex ad-hoc analyses (e.g. inventory valuation, financial metrics)
• Ensure data quality through testing, validation, and monitoring
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Supply Chain, Finance, and IT
• Support and troubleshoot data integration and production issues

Requirements

• Strong experience with Google BigQuery and advanced SQL (joins, window functions, arrays/structs)
• Proven experience with Dataform (or similar tools like dbt), including incremental loading and modularization
• Experience with Looker or similar BI tools (semantic modeling, dashboards)
• Solid understanding of data modeling, data pipelines, and performance optimization
• Experience with Git, and working in Agile environments
• Experience working with ERP/WMS data (e.g. SAP, Oracle)
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills
• Fluency in English and ideally German (nice to have)

Nice to Have

• Experience with GCP services (Cloud Storage, IAM, Cloud Functions, Cloud Run)
• Familiarity with Medallion architecture
• Experience with AI / predictive analytics use cases
• Exposure to SSAI / financial modeling concepts or advanced analytics
