Senior Data Analyst

Responsibilities

• Work with real-world and clinical trial data
• Conducts technical and data analyses to answer and address queries surrounding data reports, databases and data sets, runs specific technical reports and maintains the integrity of all internal data Investigates data anomalies; reviews trends and researches problems; handles and project manages queries and report requests, and conducts data analyses to gain insights and answers for data requests or questions
• Under broad guidance, performs quantitative or qualitative analyses to support the development of solutions for internal or
• external client project teams.
• Identifies and interprets trends and patterns in datasets to support the development of recommendations.
• Verifies data for accuracy and completeness. May manipulate and transform data to optimize analyses.
• Performs audits of own work or that of others to ensure conformance with established procedures or to resolve routine issues.
• Perform Data Engineering steps for internal and external clients.
• Plans and coordinates peer review of work products such as data model, mapping document, code, designs, and test plans produced by other team members.
• Construct budgets as required and control expenditure to achieve financial objectives.
• Develop and review methods to assess quality and efficiency of work performed by team, including metrics, internal process improvement, Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Meets personal and professional milestones as assigned, and interacts with the project team to organize timelines, responsibilities and deliverables.
• Performs other duties as directed.

Technical Skills/Abilities/Experience

• Good knowledge and Hands on experience with SQL and experience in manipulating and querying data at scale.
• Experience with big data tools and technologies such as Hadoop, HIVE etc.
• Data analysis skills and previous experience using tools like Excel, Access, SAS, Python, R, or other such analytical tools.
• Good grasp of classical statistical methods, such as fitting regression models, inference testing and sampling.
• Exposure to epidemiology / biostatistics, particularly analytical issues relating to studies of treatment effectiveness, disease progression, adherence, healthcare utilization.
• Good knowledge of healthcare / life science issues involving Real-World Evidence or experience with patient-level, longitudinal data.
• A proactive, innovative, and pragmatic approach to problem solving and an ability to think critically and independently.
• 5+ years of relevant collaborative software development experience is highly desirable
• Flexible and adaptable in a client focused, results driven environment. Ability to manage team members effectively across multiple time-zones.
• Strong knowledge and work experience with OHDSI common data model – Observational Medical Outcomes Partnership (OMOP).
• Knowledge and experience on Clinical Trial, related technologies – EDC, EPRO etc., and related standards CDISC SDTM, ADAM etc. are highly desirable
• Knowledge and experience in healthcare technologies like EHR, EMR etc., is highly desirable
• Knowledge and experience in healthcare data models – HL7, FHIR, etc.
• Knowledge and experience of different clinical and medical coding using MedDRA, WhoDRUG, ICD, CPT etc. is required.

Required Education & Experience 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline with a minimum 5-years relevant work experience; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
